A64 Hopgrove Roundabout & main carriageway resurfacing – July & August

⚠️ A64 Hopgrove Roundabout & main carriageway resurfacing – July & August

National Highways Yorkshire are resurfacing the A64 Hopgrove Roundabout and sections of the A64 between Hopgrove and Grimston Bar this summer. Some areas will also get refreshed road markings.

This scheme had been planned for Autumn this year. However, this work has been brought forward due to recent surface deterioration.

You may want to make note of the following dates, if you plan to make any journeys during the times for the planned work.

To keep disruption down, all work will take place overnight (8pm–6am) with phased closures over five weeks:

6 July

• Hopgrove Roundabout inner ring closed

• Diversions via A1237, Little Hopgrove and Grimston Bar

7–10 & 13–15 July

• Hopgrove Roundabout: eastbound open, westbound closed

• Through‑westbound traffic diverted via local authority routes

• Local westbound via city centre

20–24 July

• A64 westbound closed at Hopgrove

• Diversions via Little Hopgrove, city centre or A1237

27–28 July

• Link between Hopgrove & Little Hopgrove closed

• Diversions via Grimston Bar and city centre

30 July

• NW section of roundabout + link to Little Hopgrove closed

• Eastbound diverted via A1237/A19/A170/A169

• Local westbound via city centre

3–7 August

• A64 eastbound closed at Grimston Bar

• Diversions via city centre or A1237

Please allow extra time for your journey. All closures may change at short notice depending on progress and weather.
